Globe is OK, stand is flimsy. July 31, 2010 Richard Eltzroth (Cotopaxi, Colorado United States) As others have noted, this globe is about what you would expect for the price. The country and place names are all up to date and readable. (Google Earth is much more detailed but harder to use and doesn't really give you the actual 3 dimensional experience).
Don't expect the type of quality globe you used to see in school classrooms. The surface is just glued on paper strips with noticeable joints. The stand is incredibly cheesy; very thin plastic that practically bends in the wind. It is so lightweight that I feared it would blow off my desk. I added plaster of paris to the inside bottom for extra stability.
But still it is a practical learning device. Just handle it very gently!
This Globe is falling apart July 26, 2010 Y. Erlichman (New York, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Globe is falling apart. It is made of paper glued to a plastic ball.
The seems are coming apart, the stand is made of cheap plastic.
This globe is not worth the price. The price is cheap but so is the product.
Spend a little more and get something better.
Great globe. June 14, 2010 J. Hayward (Dothan, AL) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought 2 of them. One for my 40 year old daughter who was having a little trouble with the location of travel spots in the world; her 14 daughter now also loves it. Bought one for myself because geography has always been fun for me. This is a great globe at the right price.
Excellent globe! Very light, easy to carry. May 9, 2010 E. Simpson (Marblehead, MA, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for my mom, who wanted a globe so she could pinpoint all those obscure nations they talk about on PBS and CNN. :) She has arthritis so this globe was perfect since it's light so it's easy to carry around and move from room to room. It is very high quality and has 3D mountains too. She loved it!
Great learning tool! April 23, 2010 Jane Olson 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Traveler Globe
I do alot of traveling and my daughters are always asking me where I am going. They love this globe. My daughters find out where I am going and they find it on the globe and read up on evrywhere that I have been. Great learning tool!
