The globe is beautiful, well constructed, and the relief/texturing adds interest. The support stand had a minor issue. The bolt that passes through the base is too long for how far it has to go into the receiving "female" end, which is embedded in a hole in the center of the shaft. This was easily solved by adding additional washers to the single supplied washer, to effectively shorten the bolt. It then made a solid base.
I'm highly satisfied with the purchase.

Just received one as a gift. The instructions identify four pieces of hardware that come with it, but it comes with five. You get to guess which screws go where. Not to tough, but when I figured it out it still didn't tighten up. The screw thread inserts came out of the end of the dowell that forms the pillar between the pedestal and the globe. I could never get structural integrity with this thing.
And, it came pre-scratched and the base showed marks like somebody else had already tried to assemble it.
Maybe buy a used one instead.
